This is wierd I have either won first-second place for around 6 monthes now for every game I play for every tourney I enter. That's just very weird. All of my practice and devotion to 6 diffrent card games and 5 diffrent tournys per week have really helped.
In the last 6 monthes these are my accomplishments in the TCG world.
I have won 1st place in 21 Yu-Gi-oh Tournies
I have won 2nd place is 13 Yu-gi-oh Tourniments
I have won 1st place in 9 Magic the Gathering Tourniments
I have won 2nd place in 12 Magic tourniments
I have won 5 dot hack tourniments
I have won 8 duel master tourniments
I have won 12 Marvel Tourniments
the rest were 2nd
I play cards and running a website plus being a writter for vsuniverse.com plus playing and stuying cards this has helped me to win more.
But honestly the big thing is.
the more games you play, the more you think. Each game you learn a diffrent skill. Then apply all to everyone you play.
